Curriculum Vitae
John G. Mazarakos
John is a member of the Athens Bar and is admitted in the Court of Appeals. He obtained his law degree from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Law, in 1999, and carried out part of his graduate studies in the Netherlands, at the University of Nijmegen.
He continued his studies at the University of Essex, U.K., where he obtained an LL.M. degree in European Community Law in 2000; and later received his second LL.M. from the National Kapodistrian University of Athens in Civil Law in 2003. Prior to joining the firm, John worked as a trainee at the Environment DG of the European Commission.
John is the author of the following articles: “European Union and United States of America: Aspects of Merger Control” and “Joint Ventures in Greece,” and has co-authored the Chapter on Greece for “The International Comparative Legal Guide to Merger Control 2007.”
John speaks Greek, English, French, German and Dutch. He has experience in competition law, European Community law, corporate and commercial law, capital markets and taxation.
